I bought this game for my 6 year old. She played it once and thought that it was “O.K.”. I don’t believe that she’s gone back to it yet

I really like this. If you don’t know who the ClueFinders are, click Laptrap (the yellow floating guy) and click on the ClueFinders Club button. I used to think it was a club you join and pay money but no, it’s just an information center. You might as well know you need to get 3 of everything, I didn’t know that with the spark plugs, I only got one. The spark plugs is the map game witch other reviews complain about. It’s not confusing, it’s just boring. My favorite game is where you experiment to knock down the toys but I only play it 3 times because I don’t want the ClueFinders to have any proof that they went on there adventure. Originally, I’d do 20. Eldon the Elevator takes a really long time on level 4. I really liked the plot and I always make up stories where kids are in stores after they close. Ali Trap is really cute & I wish she was in more games besides Reading Adventures where she dosen’t talk and is duplicated. This game is best for high-ish ages who know a lot about multiplication & division. Don’t get fooled by the box, the robo dog is actullay good by giving them a smart chip for the unshrinker. I played just about every game in the ClueFinders series as a pre- and early teen. This was the last one to be released, and unfortunately, it’s just not as good as the other titles. Most importantly, the activities are much weaker — they are less engaging (I can’t even remember some of them), and there is no good way to automatically set the levels in the game to the appropriate difficulty for the kid. Every time you play through the adventure, you must either manually set the levels via LapTrap or start over at level one, a serious problem for slightly older kids who will quickly get bored with the easier levels. I also remember noticing some bugs where the sound cut out at the main screen — the other titles all played almost flawlessly.
Another point: though kids who aren’t already fans of the series may not care, the actors who voiced the ClueFinders were replaced in this game (maybe the original kids were sounding too old?). The new voices are clearly supposed to be similar, but I found them noticeably different and thus very jarring.
If you love the ClueFinders, you may want to buy this game anyway — the storyline is on par with the rest of the series. Otherwise, I suggest buying one or more of the other ClueFinders games first. (3rd Grade Adventures, which introduces the characters, is an excellent introduction to the series.) Rating: 2 / 5

This is the first “edutainment” software that I’ve been able to install without a hitch on our Windows 2000 system. We don’t give normal accounts “Administrator” or “Power User” privileges, and it worked fine. Kudos to The Learning Company for finally updating their game engines to work cleanly (and securely) on operating systems newer than Windows 3.1!
It also properly adjusts and restores screen resolution, and with far more than VGA resolution.
My daughter enjoys it, and has played each disk several times.
I’ll agree with the other review that the map section required some help at first. But she’s been able to stretch her mind to understand all aspects of it, which is great. Rating: 5 / 5

This game is totally cheap (price wise) because you get one regular game and one bounus game… It is very educational and also is fun. This is a really, really great game!!! Rating: 5 / 5
