I would have asked for a replacement but I was only allowed to get a refund. My client liked the fact you can get almost 4 hours out of the battery. It came at 73% charged so I plugged it up and fit was fine, but it was the strangest thing it never wanted to drain the battery. I fine had everything on running it took 4 hours I never had a battery do that. Well when it was time to charge the battery, 24 hours later and still at 0%. I knew it was to good to be true. So I am off to look else where for a battery. I understand that these are generic batteries, and I would have given it one more shot.

I bought this for a 2 year old failing factory battery. Initially I ordered the wrong one. I e-mailed the original company and was able to return it no problem. Once installed, we charged it for a day and it works very well. Hopefully we’ll get a few years out of this one, too.. Rating: 5 / 5

I put this battery into my Dell Inspiron 1525. It showed it had a 68% charge, brand new. It went ahead and charged to 98%. It dropped to no charge within 2 hours of using it and then would not charge at all again. I wrote the company and they sent me directions on how to recharge it. I tried everything they suggested, but nothing worked. I have sent the battery back…we will see if they stand up to their warranty. Rating: 1 / 5

My battery came on the very first day of shipping. Just follow your laptop’s manual for removing and replacing the battery. I am now encouraged to use my laptop without keeping it plugged in all the time. Rating: 5 / 5

The first gotcha was that this battery is quite a bit bigger that the one it replaced (RN 873) but it fit the slot fine. Just stick out and down a little.
Second gotcha was absolutely no directions which should be not problem but…Apparently Dell uses a Smart Power system which has thousands of complaints on the internet.
Anyway, I powered down, installed battery and powered up. Power options said 63%. OK so far. 12 hours later still 63%….Uh Oh.
Long story (about 7 hours of Internetting, calling, attempted BIOS flashes etc) developed many horror stories about LIon batteries and Dell power adapter. The dreaded “unknown device” syndrome.
Here’s how Dell recommended a reset. First, power down and remove battery. Second, unplug AC Power adapter from computer AND wall. Third-Wait till green light goes out. In my case, went and got coffee and watch a show.
Fourth – plug adapter into wall and computer and power up WITHOUT the battery installed.
After boot up, insert the battery.
It worked?!!?!
