Product Description
When the last edition of the Joy of Cooking appeared in 1997, it was a chef-centric, rarified global ingredient kind of moment. And now, 1997 seems very far away. the seller never sent me my book, never returned my e-mails or offered to refund my money. I don’t know why. But, regardless of why, Amazon came through for me and got me a refund.

Thanks Amazon! I appreciate the help. It’s nice to know you are supportive of your customers.

I ordered and paid for, through Amazon,”The Joy Of Cooking” for my daughter. She has NEVER received it. Further more, I have Never received any correspondence concerning this product since I ordered it.
Up until now, my husband and I have been very happy with Amazon—between the two of us we have used Amazon frequently. I don’t know that I will use Amazon again. I have received absolutely NO satisfaction.

The book had a small rip and little smushing of the cover. If it had been for me, or a used item, I wouldn’t have cared, but it was a gift for a young bride, and I would have preferred an unblemish more virginal copy.

I’ve never had the luxury of owning previous editions…but, after owning this one for only a short time, I know I’ll never part with it. Fascinating book. Lots of great back-ground for the recipes, including the “whys” and “what-ifs.” Sections include entertaining, table-setting, menu suggestions, 30-minute dinners, cook a day–eat for a week, and much more! The book is well-written and precise. Great illustrations. The variety of recipes is enough to satisfy the professional cook, but not intimidate the beginner! Definitely a book for all ages and skill levels!
