I found this book simply too obvious and simple for someone, like myself, who is already deeply interested in food and nutrition.

The line and word breaks are a mess in the Kindle version. Hope this is not an example of what to expect from Kindle formatting.

Neat book, but only three stars for the Kindle version due to the fact that the formatting is terrible. Lots of extra spaces in words, leading to some very strange line breaks.
You would think that publishers would pay more attention to this.

A wonderfully short and concise guide to food and eating for someone like me who has many interests and does not want to get bogged down in some wordy dissatation about nutrition that interferes in my main pursuit of writing run-on sentences.

Well, the items included in this book are okay, and mostly common sense. It’s a good read, and well worth purchasing.
However, at least one of “his” ideas was blatantly stolen from another trademarked diet program. His “so called S rule” is taken from The No S Diet, by Reinhard Engel, with no attribution to the original author. It’s further complicated by the fact that this “rule” is being quoted in other publications and reviews, and attributed to Mr. Pollan, not the true author, Mr. Engel.
If you are truly fascinated by this rule, please see the actual source. Mr. Engel’s book is published right here on Amazon. He also has a FREE website which you can find by doing an internet search on No S.
This plagarism has, unfortunately, affected my views of Mr. Pollan and his work, which is otherwise quite worthy.
